Reserva Ecológica Morning Escape — Costanera Sur, Buenos Aires

The largest nature reserve in the city sits right next to Puerto Madero, 350 hectares of wetland, grass, and river. Come early for birdsong and soft light off the water, before the sun gets high. The paths are wide and flat, and it is easy to turn back whenever you like.

On this plan

  • 350 hectares of wetland
  • Birds before 10 AM
  • River and skyline views
  • Wide flat paths
  • Miradors over the water
  • Coffee back in Puerto Madero

Your afternoon

  1. 8:00 AM · Enter at Costanera Sur
Grab a coffee before the gate
  2. Laguna de los Coipos
Look for herons on the water
  3. Mirador Christian Henschke
    River and reeds
  4. Mirador Guillermo E. Hudson
Turn back when you are ready

What to bring

  • Water
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Binoculars (optional)
  • Comfortable shoes

Getting there

A short walk from Puerto Madero, along the Costanera Sur promenade

Bring water and a hat, there is little shade once the sun is up. The reserve keeps set hours and closes in the evening, so check the gate times.
