Recoleta, Art and a Cocktail — Recoleta, Buenos Aires

An afternoon that drifts into the evening in Recoleta. Start at the Centro Cultural Recoleta, a former convent turned home for contemporary art behind a blue mural, take a coffee at La Biela under its great rubber tree by the cemetery, then end at Presidente, a Recoleta townhouse bar that has become a regular on the World's 50 Best Bars. Flat and leafy, and easy at any pace.

Getting there

Buses along Avenida del Libertador and Las Heras stop near the plaza. It is a pleasant walk from Subte Line H at Las Heras.

This is one of the calmer, more trafficked parts of the city, and the route stays busy into the evening.
