Bosques de Palermo Bike Loop

A long, easy loop through the park's lakes and gardens.

Bosques de Palermo Bike Loop — Bosques de Palermo, Buenos Aires

A wide, flat loop through the Bosques de Palermo, the green heart of the city, laid out in part by the French landscape designer Carlos Thays. You link the lake by the Planetario, the Japanese garden, and the rose garden along shaded, tree lined avenues. It is a fuller outing than a quick walk, but the riding stays easy and the pace is yours.

On this plan

  • Long, flat loop on wide park roads
  • Links the lakes, gardens and rose garden
  • Shaded, tree lined avenues
  • Circles the iconic Planetario
  • Cafés around the edges
  • Good to ride with friends

Your afternoon

  1. 9:30 AM · Start at the Planetario
    Set an easy pace
  2. Circle the lake
Ride around the Lago del Planetario
  3. Past the Jardín Japonés
A quiet corner of the park
  4. Through El Rosedal
    Roll slowly past the roses
  5. Back to the Planetario
Close the loop where you began

What to bring

  • Water
  • A bike or a rental
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses

Getting there

Subte Line D to Plaza Italia, or buses to Monumento a los Españoles

The park roads are flat and shared with walkers, families and other riders, so keep an easy pace and ring your bell. On weekends the inner roads close to cars, which makes riding calmer. Go in daylight and bring water.
