Caminito Color Walk
Painted houses, tango corners, and the river bend.

- 30 min
- 1.6 km
- Very easy
- Best time: Best in full daylight, from midday to late afternoon
- Popular
- Coffee nearby
A short, bright walk through Caminito, the open-air street museum of La Boca, where the old conventillos wear corrugated zinc in blue, red, and yellow. The little passage gave its name to the 1926 tango 'Caminito', and the music still turns up on the corners. From there the walk drifts down to the Vuelta de Rocha, the bend in the Riachuelo lined with old shipyards. Loveliest in full daylight, when the paint glows and the street is at its liveliest.

Getting there
Bus 64 and other lines stop at Vuelta de Rocha on Av. Pedro de Mendoza, a couple of minutes from Caminito. La Boca has no subte, so come by bus, taxi, or the tourist bus.
La Boca is liveliest and safest by day. Stay on Caminito and the main painted streets, keep to the crowd, and enjoy it in full daylight. It is not a place to wander side streets or linger after dark, so plan to be back by late afternoon.
